PRIDE Crochet Tapestry

I used Stitch Fiddle to design my first ever Crochet Tapestry, the Pride Rainbow Heart!!!!

You could not have told me four years ago that I’d be combining my crochet hobby with my passion for learnig to draw.

I forced myself last year to partake in a personal 100 day drawing challenge. I stuck to a 3″x3″ composition and focused on drawing hearts. Now they weren’t any good. Very remedial. lol. But out of the 100, I’d say I have about 10, that I like to explore further.

But that is how the Pride Rainbow Heart Tapestry was born. Out of those 100 hearts was this diamond in the rough. I kept thinking with its simple design, it could work as a tapestry.

I ran it through Stitch Fiddle a couple of times, made a few adjustments and finally had time during Pride Month to work on it.

It it so exciting to see something I drew from a personal challenge, turn into a physical product, that is now hanging on my sons wall. And to see his innocent excitement and reaction to my work, is so fullfilling.

So I am so happy to introduce the PRIDE RAINBOW HEART TAPESTRY now on sale in my store front!

WHAT’S NEXT:

So… I tried boosting the release of the pattern on instagram and quite honestly… For all the rig-a-ma-ro, political commentary and bs… it would have been better to put that money into setting up etsy.

Etsy has all of the SEO information I need to get my product out there and seen. Now again, I will keep my expectations low. But I plan to finally launch the store front for it by the end of September.

Which brings me to TLYarn Crafts most recent YouTube Video Somebody Stole my Pattern! Yalllllll! The tea was hot as hell! Please go watch it!

I mention this as I’m writting my first (lo-key) official pattern, but because its so simple I think I’m going to offer it for free on the blog and create a PDF version for sale on the store for a couple of dollars. But with me being new to the game and now competting with people using AI to steal, copy, and create patterns, I was grateful for TLYarn Crafts video and advice.

As I learn to write patterns, I struggle with how to pirce things, wondering if the design I came up with, was already created and done by someone else. And now it is absolutely crazy to have to be concerned about AI and its impact on crochet!

But I’m going to keep pushing forward! Just Keep Going!

So the plan is to launch Etsy by the end of September, in time for the holidays. Release a pattern that i’m almost done working on. And…..

FOCUS ON DRAWING!

OMG! These last 2 Quarters have been amazing! The growth that’s been happening, launching the business and sharing my work has truly meant the world to me.

But this quarter, with my son starting school in August; I’m all about moving slow, resting, and doing the opposite of hyper focusing. And just work on my classes.

I have quite a few classes that I need to work on and this summer feels like the perfect opportunity. We can’t afford to do much this year so I’m focusing on preparing my son for school, training our dog and showinng up to my art practice daily!

So… exhale… grab your crochet hooks or pens or whatever it is you love to do and go get to work!

Love each and every single one of you who have supported me! Shout out to my bro Jason and my Twitch friend Cameron! You guys are awesome!!!
